Wide boy: Ronaldinho made his return in Venezuela
To Manchester City's horror, Ronaldinho is proving to be a bigger target than Mark Hughes' club may have anticipated. The 28-year-old made his return to football after an absence of almost four months on Saturday, playing 56 minutes of a charity match in Venezuela.
The Brazil playmaker and Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi each captained a team of internationals and while the football on display was often dazzling, it was Ronaldinho's midriff that really caught the eye.
Sporting a dark shirt that did little to hide his bulge, the watching press pack dubbed him Gordinho, or Little Fatty.
Ronaldinho - who has been linked with a move to Manchester City as well as Chelsea and the two Milan clubs was making his return from a knee injury.
Despite the added bulk, it took the Brazilian just 11 minutes of his return to score and the two-time Fifa World Player of the Year bagged another in the second half, while also setting up two others in a 7-7 draw.
Ronaldinho refused to comment on his future after the game but has recently stated that he would like to play in the Premier League.
"Every player would love to play in such a competitive championship like the English league," Ronaldinho said.

During his time in Spain with Real Madrid, Ronaldo
assumed the unflattering nickname of ‘El Gordo’, which translated means ‘The
Fat One’.
Ronaldinho has also been criticised over the past year or so
for not being as trim as he should be, however this has not stopped Milan from wanting to sign
him, and the 28-year-old is expected to complete his move to San Siro in the
coming weeks.
At the weekend Ronaldinho made his long-awaited return to
football in a charity match in Venezuela,
however he was looking decidedly overweight.
The Brazilian press have been having a field day over the Brazilian’s
expanded waistline, saying that he will be bringing home the “Barriga” (the Portuguese
word for bacon) when he moves to Milan.
Ronaldinho
has also been compared to current Milan striker Ronaldo,
and has been labelled ‘Gordinho’, which means ‘little fat one’. Little
Ronnie will be hoping that this negative publicity won't cost him his
move to the Rossoneri.
i knew it!
Have Thaksin seen Ronaldinho lately... $200,00 pounds a week... ![]()

Fat chance of playing for City

MANCHESTER CITY have cooled on buying Ronaldinho — believing he has spent too much time with Ronald McDonald. Big Ron still has his trademark cheesy smile . . . but seems to have tucked into a few cheesy burgers.
The portly Brazilian was pictured at a charity match in Venezuela on Saturday looking like he had hidden the ball up his shirt. It has shocked City boss Mark Hughes and club officials who are now rethinking their bid to land the Barcelona superstar.
City were pulling out all the stops in a bid to land the playmaker and Ron’s advisors claimed he would buckle down and make a go of the Premier League. But now the evidence suggests otherwise. City are battling AC Milan to land the World Cup winner, 28, who would cost £20million plus £130,000 a week in wages.
Ronaldinho says he just wants to get back playing after missing the last two months of the Spanish season with a knee injury and being told Barca want to sell him. Ronaldinho said: “A lot of things have been invented about me but the Barcelona fans recognise my hard work and professionalism.
“All that I ask now is to return to playing as soon as possible — it doesn’t matter where. “I want to do what I love most of all, and that is to play football.”
The thing about this kind of friendly exhibition match is... everyone is very relax... The defenders don't really bother to chase or come in hard to foul you... Everything is in a relax and easy pace... No need to keep running up and down for 90 mins, no tension, no pressure... just go about slowly and play for the moments enough...
That explains the final score of 7 - 7 draw... All the fans who came for the friendly exhibition match went home happy... lol
Normally i think its easier to lose weight when one is younger... But as he gets older, not only is it more difficult to lose it, he can also put it on much easier too... Like the other Ronaldo... Since he started putting on the kilos... we have hardly seen him lose it again...
