Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has revealed his interest in signing Tottenham's Robbie Keane but ruled out the possibility of signing David Villa.
Benitez has already admitted he wants another striker this summer as Peter Crouch prepares to join Portsmouth. Keane and Villa have both attracted the Spaniard's attention, but it appears unlikely that Villa will arrive at Anfield.
Keane's future at White Hart Lane has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, though, with reports suggesting Spurs would listen to offers for the Republic of Ireland international.
"I said the other day that he (Villa) is one of the names we had on our list, but I can say at this moment that it is not an option for us," said Benitez.
"We know Villa is a very good player, we know the price and we know the players we have, so when you consider everything we decided he was one of the names, but at this moment, not our target.
"Keane is one of the other names and okay we are still working with other names. We were in contact and we will see now."
tink he wana stay low profile on signing Villa le
well we all know liverpool are short of cash so we dont know it its a possiblity or not.
