Robbie Fowler believes he can still cut it in The Premier League but he insists he has been given no guarantees of his future by Blackburn manager Paul Ince.
The 33-year-old left Cardiff on Friday after Ince invited Fowler to a trial at Blackburn and the man Liverpool fans call 'God' will hope to prove his fitness to his former Anfield team-mate.
The move surprised everyone but Fowler admits he is taking a gamble too, turning down a contract offer from Cardiff to take the chance of a trial with Rovers.
"I don't think anyone at Cardiff can blame me for taking this opportunity because I still have a desire to play at the top level," Fowler told the Daily Mirror.
"Most importantly, I believe I can still do it.
"I could take the contract on offer at Cardiff and there are no guarantees that I will be taken on by Blackburn but at this stage of my career I've got to take a chance.
"I love playing and it doesn't matter what age you are, you want to play in The Premier League and I honestly think I can do it.
"I had injuries last season with Cardiff but when I played I was still scoring goals.
"I don't want to pack in just yet because I still think I've got something to offer.
"And I want to play. I still love football, still want to go out and do it and I'm really pleased that I have got a chance to show I can play in The Premier League."
fowler should stick to his real estate investment. why bother with soccer when he can't even be half the man he used to be while in sydney?

can't say the same thing about Cole, Fowler had been doing really well for many seasons in a row but for Cole, he is kinda on an on-off-on-off type of performance, great in Newcastle, then follow by missing way too many goals for ManU the next season before settling slightly better and again fade away..
agreed, but when cole was on form (those years when dwight yorke was around) he was really one heck of a player and i really enjoyed watching him play
