Widespread reports on Sunday claim that Everton striker Andy Johnson could leave for £12million with Sunderland and Wigan Athletic linked.
The 27-year-old England international, who is also a reported long-time target for West Ham United, has not been able to replicate his form in front of the goal for the Toffees and is said to be looking for a new club after just two seasons at Goodison Park.
Sunderland boss Roy Keane wants a striker this summer and so does Latics boss Steve Bruce, with Johnson apparently the experienced target-man to aim for.
Toffees boss David Moyes had recently dismissed speculation on the future of the former Crystal Palace man.
