Thierry Henry has once again expressed his deep attachment to old club Arsenal, after being voted the best player in the club’s history by the fans.
The striker left Arsenal in summer 2007 for Barcelona, but despite his departure Henry continues to follow The Gunners’ performances closely.
Such declarations will be like fresh air for the fans following Mathieu Flamini and Alexander Hleb’s exits by the back door this summer.
“As you know, I loved my time at Arsenal and have many fantastic memories from my eight years there,” Henry told the club’s official website.
“It was an honour to play in the historic red and white of Arsenal especially at Highbury.
“I’ll always follow the team and what they do. I’ll always be a Gooner in my heart.
“And finally thanks to the fans for their support during my time at the club.
“They were right behind me and the team in good times and bad.”
Congrats, Thierry.
