Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho closed the doors to his team's training session on Wednesday to prevent spies learning his side's new tactics.
The Portuguese tactician took the decision as he seeks to impose his training methods on the Serie A champions.
His move caused consternation among some of the club's fans, but the former Chelsea boss has pleaded with them to understand.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "I have big respect for supporters.
"In fact, also in our headquarters, we have opened the doors to them.
"But I know, we know, that in the middle of many supporters there are also many coaches or scouts of other sides, who maybe will be our opponents during the season.
"So, due to the fact we had to try new tactical situations for the first time, I decided to have training behind closed doors.
"This is the only reason why I made this decision."
