Jose Mourinho last night taunted Big Phil Scolari by claiming that the only reason the new Chelsea boss talks about him is to get free publicity.
Inter Milan manager Mourinho left Stamford Bridge last September, with Scolari succeeding Avram Grant during Euro 2008. Scolari – who last night saw Chelsea offer Real Madrid £20m for Robinho – suggested this week that Mourinho was arrogant, with the Brazilian coach claiming: “Maybe I am more modest.”
However, Mourinho hit back, insisting the World Cup-winning boss only wants to raise his profile. “They attack me because the following day it’s the front page in the newspapers,” said Mourinho.
“It’s free publicity and they know it. Is he feeling the pressure? “You’ll have to ask him. I don’t feel pressure to be here and do my job.
“I am still in love with England. I still feel a big relation with Chelsea, but I don’t want to lose my time with English football – I am in Italy and my life is in Italy.”
