Arsenal legend Tony Adams has admitted he would love to manage The Gunners one day in the future.
Adams, speaking at an England fans' forum hosted by international team sponsors Nationwide Building Society, cannot disguise his great affection for the only club he represented during his illustrious playing career.
If the right managerial opportunity had cropped up over the summer, the ex-England skipper feels he may have left Portsmouth, where he is currently assisting Harry Redknapp.
"Arsene won't move over will he?!" exclaimed Adams. "I keep saying to him: 'When are you going to move over and let me have a bash?'
"But, at the moment, he still seems to be enjoying himself although, one day [maybe]."
Adams is happy to be continuing to learn his trade on the South Coast but has serious ambitions on the coaching side of the game.
"I'm alright," he stated. "Nothing became available in the summer that I wanted a go at or that wanted me is the main thing.
"No-one came and sought my employment.
"Harry did, and Peter Storrie, and Portsmouth. They wanted me to help out for another year and I said 'great, not a problem'.
"It keeps me out of the house!"
wow, but will arsenal be too defensive a team if he takes over?
