Ariel Ortega had an impressive debut in a thrilling 3-3 tie with Defensa y Justicia in a match that corresponded to the second round of the Argentine Primera Nacional B.
More than 25,000 fans were on hand to witness Ortega's highly anticipated debut, and the playmaker didn't disappoint, playing the entire ninety minutes, and converting a well struck penalty kick.
"I'm happy with my debut. I was very anxious during the week and on the field I felt very comfortable. The team played well, we made mistakes, but we always tried to win the match," he stated.
Ortega, who joined the low-profile club from the glamour of River Plate, admitted that he "didn't feel" the difference from moving to the second-tier division of Argentine football because football "is the same everywhere you play."
