The newly promoted Serie A outfit pulled off one of the biggest
transfer shocks of the summer on deadline day on Monday when they
announced the signing of Cruzeiro starlet Kerlon.
Despite
suffering a serious knee injury last year that he has still not fully
recovered from, the 20-year-old forward is regarded as one of Brazil’s
most promising young talents, and he has become famous for his “seal
dribble” where he runs past opponents with the ball glued to his
forehead.
"I am happy to have arrived in Italy, and to have the
opportunity to play in Serie A,” said Kerlon. “For this I am grateful
to Chievo.
“I look forward to putting myself to the test even if I
have to have a little bit of patience - I am still recovering from my
knee injury and I need at least two to three weeks to fully recover.
“My favourite Brazilian? Ronaldinho, for his fantasy. But I like a lot Luciano and Cesar of Chievo.
“My objectives? To have a beautiful championship with Chievo and to avoid relegation.”
The
5ft 5in Kerlon has yet to play for the Brazilian national team, but he
has represented his country at Under-15 level right up to Under-20.
never heard of him
did he play at the olympics?
He's the guy who does the seal, dribbling the ball using his head.
