Arsenal are close to appointing a new chief executive at Emirates Stadium, according to manager Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners have been seeking a replacement for former managing director Keith Edelman following his shock departure in April and had been hoping to have a new man in place before the start of the season.
While this has not proved possible, it appears the club are now confident of unveiling a high-profile figure to alleviate some of the pressure on Ken Friar who has assumed Edelman’s responsibilities and is also integral to player recruitment.
Former Manchester City chief executive Alistair Mackintosh and former Fulham managing director David McNally have been two names linked with the post, and Wenger expects an appointment imminently.
“It is progressing quite well,” Wenger told the club’s official website.
“We are getting to the end of the story. I am involved in it and I am consulted for it but it is down to the board to make that decision.
“Having consulted me, they will take the responsibility to name the right person. I think the decision will be made soon but I don’t know exactly when.”
ya yaaa... get both and register both so that when seasons get to the mid way and Arsenal run into injuries problem one can play on the field while the other can still sit in the director box..
