Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with a January move for Sporting Lisbon star Miguel Veloso.
The Portugal international's agent, Paulo Barbosa, claims the Premier League giants are preparing bids for the £16million-rated midfielder.
The 22-year-old, who can operate in a holding midfield role and is equally comfortable in defence, was reported to be a summer target for Tottenham.
But with no move to White Hart Lane emerging, it now appears that Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson will do battle for his services.
Barbosa told the News of the World: "Arsenal want Veloso for the future and a deal could be done in the January window.
"But United are also watching the situation very closely."
His agent probably trying to raise his profile
Its not gonna be easy for him to break into man uts's already crowded central midfield, let alone the near untouchable central defence partnership of vidic and ferdinand. But if he goers to arsenal, he might be used as a replacement for flamini
Ah Ben will be interested in getting over this guy.
He got fetish about midfielders.
The more the merrier.
