Karim Benzema’s buy-out clause is set at £80 million, according to Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas.
The 20-year-old Benzema is one of the most vaunted players in Europe, after taking the French league’s top goalscorer crown last term with 20 goals.
The promising France international has already netted five goals in six games this term with OL, and has been linked to Manchester City, but his boss Aulas has stated his star-man is part of a long-term project and will only leave if a mega bid is made.
“We made him sign a contract until 2013 including a €100 million buy-out clause,” Aulas declared.
“The work contract does not mention this clause, which would be illegal. It is about an under signature agreement.
“The idea is winning the European Cup with Benzema, which is a strong project, as well as building the new stadium.”

ya.. but no one would even think of coming close to 50m pounds during Henry's "hey" day..
its the time that had changed not the standard that counts these days...
lol. buy out for 80m. but if benzema can make abit of noise here and there, he should be able to force to club to sell him for a amount much lower than his buy out clause.
