FALLEN football star Stan Collymore was awarded more than £1.5million by a judge yesterday, but might not see a penny of it.
The ex-England player admitted he lost virtually everything he earned from the game in a series of catastrophic investments.
And after suing his financial adviser Mark Francis and two finance firms he was awarded the huge damages at London’s High Court.
Failed
But he could never see the cash because Francis is now bankrupt and the two firms are in liquidation.
Mrs Justice Gloster heard the ex-striker, 37, was wrongly told to cash in insurance policies and to set up funds which failed. She said the advice from Francis, of Interlink Premier Network Ltd, was “negligent and in breach of statutory obligations”.
She awarded him £854,435 against Francis and Interlink.
The other firm, IPTC Ltd, was told to pay him £648,409. Collymore, whose £8.5m fee when he moved from Nottingham Forest to Liverpool in 1995 was a British record, was not in court.
one of the coolest finisher when at his peak during his Nothingham Forest days, one of those who happened to move Liverpool and goes down hill right after signing on the dotted line and also one of those who just can't seems to get away from trouble away from the field...
Wasn't he the one that bang his balls against the goalpost... Or was it another Pool player...
