Alan Hutton has responded to criticism from Thomas Sorensen after the Tottenham defender's challenge at Stoke City on Sunday led to the Danish keeper leaving the action with a badly cut eye.
Sorensen claimed he was close to being blinded and felt the Scotland international could have avoided contact when flying into the tackle.
However, Hutton has reiterated his apology, after saying sorry for the incident on the field, and stressed it is a contact sport after all.
"It's harsh," said Hutton. "I said I was sorry and I totally mean that.
"I'd like to say sorry again. Hopefully he'll be back as soon as possible.
"I've been in that position before myself and I would never go out and try to harm anyone.
"It was one of those things.
"I've received bad tackles - it's a contact sport, I don't say anything about it."
