Benitez sweating on the fitness of his stars for Sunday

Injured Liverpool trio Gerrard, Alonso and Keane could all miss weekend clash with Chelsea
RAFA BENITEZ last night put the boot in on Robbie Keane for not killing off Atletico Madrid. The Irishman fired Liverpool ahead but then missed a great chance to make it 2-0 when he tried a fancy backheel finish and missed the ball completely. The Spaniards fought back in the second half and levelled late on through Simao.
Benitez fumed: “I’m annoyed with Keane’s miss because you have to score from those positions. We didn’t finish the game off when we were in charge.”
Keane, Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso all went off injured in the second half but Benitez is hopeful they will be fit for Sunday’s Premier League clash at Chelsea.
The Kop boss added: “We were playing well and had it under control until the final third. “We tried to be too precise. We passed and passed and tried to give the perfect pass. “I think it’s a positive result. We have seven points and are not in a bad position.
With Fernando Torres ruled out with a hamstring problem, Benitez sweating on the fitness of his stars before Sunday’s showdown.
He said: “Robbie was feeling his groin, it’s a muscle problem. “I don’t think it’s anything serious but we needed to replace him. “Gerrard didn’t say he had a problem but I thought he was tired and Alonso had a knock on his knee and was asking to be substituted.
“The pitch was soft and meant some players had muscle problems. “And everyone knows my idea about the international break.”
