Emmanuel Adebayor believes Arsenal's 2-0 victory at West Ham on Sunday has put them back in the title race.
Adebayor came off the bench to turn the game at Upton Park in Arsenal's favour, as his shot was put into the West Ham net by Julien Faubert before he notched another in injury time.
The Gunners lie just four points adrift of leaders Liverpool and, just as crucially for them, only one point behind Chelsea and four ahead of Manchester United.
"We're back in the title race," Adebayor told The Mirror. "We believe we can win the title but we have to win games like this.
"We had something to prove, to come to Upton Park and win.
"We knew it was going to be very difficult. It was and we were getting frustrated.
"But now we must focus on the derby versus Spurs."
With Harry Redknapp now installed at White Hart Lane, Arsene Wenger knows they face a tough task next and impressed upon his team the need to stay consistent throughout the season.
"One week ago everyone made Chelsea super-favourites, now it is Liverpool," Wenger said. "Things change very quickly, which is why it makes it very interesting
"We were very close last year and with 83 points, many times you would have been champions.
"However, Manchester United had a fantastic second half of the season, we dropped a little bit of our quality and that is it - I still feel any weakness will be punished."
