TONY ADAMS last night told his old boss Harry Redknapp: Hands off my players.
Portsmouth confirmed yesterday Adams will replace Redknapp at Fratton Park — as exclusively revealed in SunSport.
Redknapp, who quit late on Saturday to go to Spurs, is tipped to chase Pompey’s Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe.
But Adams, said: “I will fight Harry if he wants any of my top players. I’m delighted other clubs want them but it will be my job to keep them here.”
Ex-England skipper Adams, who faces his first test against Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield tonight, has signed a new two-year deal. And he added: “I’ve already spoken to the players and no one has suggested they want to go.
“If anyone wants to go I’ll let them. I want players who want to play for us. If they don’t, it’s no good in the long run making them stay.”
