Chelsea expect to be without Ricardo Carvalho for three weeks after he limped out of Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Hull.
The Portuguese defender, so key to The Blues’ defence, suffered a hamstring injury towards the end of the match, meaning he could now miss Premier League matches against Sunderland (h), Blackburn (a), and West Brom (a).
“I don’t know the situation with Ricardo but it could be a minimum of three weeks,” Scolari confirmed after the match in The Sun.
Joe Cole also suffered an injury, and Scolari revealed he may have aggravated the same ankle that has kept him out of recent games.
“Joe maybe felt something with his ankle,” said the Chelsea boss.
Chelsea’s victory was inspired by one of the most sublime goals you will ever see from Frank Lampard, and Scolari hailed his main man as one of the world’s best players.
"His goal was one of the best in the world - only one player with this quality can make this goal. Other players, no.
"I think it was one of the best goals that I saw in my life. There are many very good players in England, and one of the best is Frank."
Defeat ends Hull’s four-match winning strike, and Phil Brown admitted they were well beaten.
"It is a kick in the proverbials but we have got to dust ourselves down and prepare for it.
"We came up against a quality side and we didn't bring our best game to the table, even though we caused them problems in the first half.
"I don't enjoy getting beat. I haven't come into The Premier League just to enjoy it - I have come into The Premier League to try to win games of football and this was poor by our standards."
sad case for chelsea, but that's a good news for chelsea, ESSIEN IS COMING BACK AFTER NEW YEAR!
