“He has been given two chances and has not used them” Hoeneß blasted following the 23 year olds poor showing against Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek after Podolski was brought in to replace the injured Luca Toni.
Hoeneß also took a swipe at Podolski’s international record with the German national team. “80% of the time we are playing the likes of Liechtenstein, San Marino, Moldova or Estonia.
“The problem is that when you score twice against them, you are treated like a hero” he said.
Trainer Jürgen Klinsmann appeared to back his manager’s outburst by adding: “He (Podolski) would make it easier to make an argument for him if he was to stick one in the back of the net.”
It seems that Podolski’s argument that he is never given a chance has now been used up. He is set to start again on Saturday against Arminia Bielefeld, but it is then expected that Luca Toni will be fit again to rejoin Miroslav Klose in the Bayern team.
The winter transfer rumours are bound to restart should Podolski not find the net on Saturday and retake his customary place on the Bayern substitute’s bench.
podolski should not be in bayern.. he is not even treated properly
he is such a great player.. but the club treat him like shit
