  HULL’S stunning start has not only shocked Tigers boss Phil Brown — it has surprised Alex Ferguson too. 

  The pair will come face to face for the second time in under a week when Hull go to Manchester United tomorrow. 

  Brown, whose fifth-placed side are one place and two points above United, revealed: “I picked up an award on Sunday for our achievements in winning promotion last season and I was sat next to Sir Alex. 

  “He was saying who’d have believed his side would be coming up against ourselves below us in the table.” 

  Hull must bounce back from their 3-0 midweek mauling by Chelsea. 

  Brown added: “We’ll be up against the best team in Europe but I believe we can get something from the game.”
