Ashley Young has committed his long-term future to Aston Villa by signing a new four-year deal with the Premier League side.
Young, 23, has established himself as one of the finest wingers in the top flight since joining from Watford for a fee of £9.65 million in January 2007, scoring 13 times in 59 starts and contributing a massive 17 assists last season alone.
His rapid progression at Villa has been recognised at international level and Young has been handed three England caps by Fabio Capello to date, although he has not yet featured in the country’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
Villa secured team-mates John Carew and Gabby Agbonlahor to new long-term contracts over the summer and will be delighted with the news that Young has now followed suit.
The Stevenage-born star, who went to school with new Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton, has already chipped in with four assists and two goals in the new Premier League season.
