Inzaghi's current deal was set to expire at the end of the season where
he would have been free to find another club in January.
However,
the Rossoneri have wasted no time in securing the player's services for
another year and they have confirmed Inzaghi has put pen to paper.
A statement on the club's official website reads:
"AC Milan would like to announce the contract extension of Filippo Inzaghi until June 2010."
The deal means Inzaghi will have played at the club for nine years by the time his contract ends.
Superpippo
signed for Milan in 2001 from Juventus and he has enjoyed great success
at San Siro winning the Champions League twice as well as the European
Supercup once, a World Club Cup, a Scudetto in 2004 and the Coppa
Italia in 2003.
The prolific hit-man is likely to be involved in
action against Sporting Braga tomorrow night in the UEFA Cup and he
will be hoping to celebrate his latest deal with a goal.
