Arsenal may be facing Manchester United at the weekend but the two Premier League giants look set for a battle off the pitch for the services of Adem Ljajic.
Gunners scout Francis Cagigao, the man who spotted Cesc Fabregas's prodigious talents, is in Serbia to watch two matches with the country's brightest youngsters on his radar.
Partizan Belgrade prodigy Ljajic has already had a trial with United but Arsene Wenger is interested in stealing a march on The Red Devils.
The 17-year-old is a right winger with great potential and will be monitored in the game against Banat.
The Gunners are also trailing Vojvodina's Danijel Aleksic, the Serbia Under-17 captain and main man for that particular team.
Goran Milosavljevic, who had a spell at Chester City as a player, is the scout who is working with Cagigao.
"We are watching Danijel Aleksic and Adem Ljajic," Milosavljevic confirmed to nogomania.com.
"We have been watching Ljajic and Aleksic for quite some time now, especially Ljajic, because we watched the match between Partizan and Radnicki in September.
"If Aleksic and Ljajic do have the qualities to play for Arsenal, the club management will do everything to bring them both to London.
"Everything will depend on Vojvodina and Partizan then."
Aleksic is a 17-year-old attacker, who will be in action against Crvena Zvezda, and the two starlets will look to impress in front of the watching Arsenal representatives during the next round of matches.
