Tottenham Hotspur's summer signing Giovani Dos Santos picked up an ankle injury on Monday and manager Harry Redknapp expects the Mexican to be out of action ‘for a while’.
Mexican starlet Giovani is yet to make an impression in The Premier League since moving from Barcelona after having made 28 appearances in La Liga last season.
The highly rated 19-year-old shone during pre-season and must prove himself at White Hart Lane.
And there is bad news for the forward, as Spurs boss Redknapp has revealed the youngster picked up an ankle injury at training and is sidelined.
"He picked up a nasty injury in training on Monday morning and he'll be out for a while,” Redknapp said.
“[Mexico coach] Sven-Goran Eriksson rang me a few days ago and asked how he was. We're not sure how long he'll be out for.”
