Arsenal striker Theo Walcott believes their Premier League title rivals will be fearful of visiting the Emirates Stadium following the dramatic 2-1 win against Manchester United.
The Gunners picked out a performance from the top-drawer to overcome United having had their title credentials seriously challenged by critics in the build-up.
Roughed up during the Stoke loss and squandering a lead against Tottenham had put the spotlight on Arsene Wenger's side for the wrong reasons, and Walcott thinks the landscape has dramatically changed following Saturday's win.
“We need to make teams come to the Emirates and be scared of us and the result against United will put fear in people’s minds,” Walcott said in the Daily Express.
“We had a meeting ahead of the game and it showed. If we play like we did against United, then we will be fine.
“We are third now and United are just behind us in the table, so that victory has definitely boosted our confidence and morale in the dressing room.
“It’s going to be a close title race until the end of the season. It’s not just going to be a one-horse race, there will be quite a few teams involved – including us.”
