Portsmouth's French international midfielder, Lassan Diarra, will be out of action for some time after he "badly sprained an ankle" at the Boleyn Ground earlier today.
And Portsmouth manager Tony Adams's frustration at the injury is compounded by the fact that the player will still be expected to travel to Paris this week to join up with the French national team ahead of their friendly with Uruguay this week.
"We've done well because we were without Sol Campbell and Niko Kranjcar and then lost Diarra, although it was an entire accident,” Adams said after the game.
"The big shame is that we've got to send Lassana over to France for their friendly international next week.
“We are not allowed to pull him out but hopefully the French doctors will see the extent of the injury.
"I'm not happy he's got to get on a plane with it, though."
Diarra was forced to leave the field after 19 minutes today, and is expected to be out for several weeks.
