Having possibly witnessed his last match in charge of Real Madrid, Bernd Schuster spoke of the "unjust" nature of the result.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Schuster said, "We were unlucky. It's very disappointing to lose a match we didn't think we would lose.
"The teams work hard to do things right. We made a few changes because we were missing a player.
"They never created any scoring opportunities other than their goal.
That's what matters; not suffering defensively. We had chances to score
a goal or two, but our hard work bore no fruit."
Asked about the
lack of creativity in his midfield combination, the German retorted by
stating, "We intended to avoid the pressure put on by Valladolid, which
is why Guti, Gago and Javi García played together in the midfield.
"We suffered here a lot last year due to their presure, so in order to avoid it, we tried more direct plays in search of our forwards. That's why we didn't play like we usually do.
"Proof lies in the fact that they didn't have one chance in the
first half and in the second they only had one that turned out well.
That's what supports our approach."
There was no mention of a
possible sacking from Schuster, as he finished by saying, "We are
working hard to find what is best for the team. The final score doesn't
help at all. We didn't want to lose and at least take a point."
While
Schuster may not want to touch on the subject of his future, it will no
doubt be a topic of intense discussion in the Real Madrid boardroom
this week. It remains to be seen, therefore, whether we have just
witnessed Bernd Schuster's last press conference as Real Madrid coach.

Real is stupid to sack Capello and replace with him...
He also no good. Cannot win CL for Madrid.
Capello just need another season to do it and Real was so impatient to sack him.
Got rumours their looking at Rijkaard.
