Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has admitted his admiration for Barcelona star Samuel Eto’o, but distanced the club from reported interest in Karim Benzema.
Eto’o is on fire with 13 goals to his name in La Liga this season. He was linked with a move to the San Siro in the summer and Galliani admits he remains on their radar.
“I am in love with a striker who is not Benzema,” Galliani told Italian TV channel Sky 1. “It’s Samuel Eto’o. I would sign him if I could. But we are talking about a dream.”
Galliani added that the Rossoneri are not planning a move for Lyon star Benzema.
“Benzema is a good player, a good striker, and he is young,” he added. “But we never spoke with him, there is absolutely nothing.
“We don’t wish to annoy Lyon. Chairman [Jean-Michel] Aulas and Lyon are a too expensive shop, as a consequence I think Benzema will stay put.”
