Spanish conquest: Luis Fabiano could leave Sevilla for Manchester or London
City look set to invest heavily in the January transfer window and Blackburn's Roque Santa Cruz, out-of-contract Brazilian Ronaldo and Bayern Munich's Lukas Podolski have all been linked to the Premier League club.
Fabiano, who scored a hat-trick for his country against Portugal last week, has scored just three goals for Sevilla this season - but his agent Jose Fuentes claims a host of clubs, including City, are tracking him.
Fuentes said: "Manchester City have asked about Fabiano but that is not unique because they are just one of many. "The final decision lays with Sevilla and I still have to speak to the club's directors."
City's latest move follows links with Brazilian striker Ronaldo, who is currently training back in his native country. The former AC Milan striker was quoted as saying last week: "I know that there is interest from Manchester City - and I am focused on my recovery to explore this."
Fabiano Farah, Ronaldo's representative, added: "We want a project that will live up to the history of Ronaldo."
