NAKED VULNERABILITY ... Gallas is lonely at the Emirates
Gallas, 31, was stripped of the armband two weeks ago for publicly criticising his team-mates. Yet SunSport can reveal the Frenchman has since refused to apologise for his outburst and is now plotting his escape away from the Emirates.
A close family member revealed: “William is not a happy man at the moment. “He did not apologise to his team-mates over his comments, nor did Arsene Wenger make him do so. “But he still feels completely humiliated to have been stripped of the captaincy and is strongly thinking about a move in January.
“The summer would be too far away.
“He says he is lonely in the dressing room and at training, and he doesn’t really have many friends.
“William doesn’t want to return to France but AC Milan have publicly shown their interest in him and that would be an attractive option.”
Former Chelsea ace Gallas endured a torrid reception from Blues fans on his return to Stamford Bridge in last Sunday’s 2-1 win. But he was boosted to hear supportive chants from the Arsenal end.
The defender was the first Gunners player to throw his shirt into the crowd after the game. Yet he did not celebrate Robin van Persie’s winner and is still seen as an outcast in the dressing room, despite boss Wenger denying there are big problems within the squad.
Who wouldnt be? Time for him to go and keep his mouth shut somewhere else.
