Olympique Lyonnais striker Karim Benzema has revealed a bit more about his transfer plans for when he ultimately leaves the Stade Gerland. When asked by Le10Sport whether or not he would still be with the French champions in 2010, he responded, "I feel good in Lyon.
"But whether or not I leave before the World Cup or after, it won't make a difference. "I don't think too much about Ligue 1, but I love the English, Italian and Spanish leagues."
There is little surprise there, but his list of favoured clubs may raise eyebrows. "Ever since I was tiny I've loved Real Madrid," he said. "But I also like other big clubs, like AC Milan and Manchester (United.)"
Moving on to discuss the Ballon d'Or, he stated that he was not disappointed to receive no votes in the final stage. "It doesn't matter," shrugged the 20-year-old.
"I was already proud to be part of the thirty nominees. I still have work to do. One day I can really go higher."
