Everton's goalscoring midfielder Tim Cahill says he will play in any position if it helps the club succeed.
An injury crisis at Goodison Park meant the Australia international was deployed as a lone striker on Saturday after Victor Anichebe failed a late fitness test.
However, the move paid off as Cahill struck with a header in second-half injury time to snatch victory against Manchester City with the only goal of the Eastlands encounter.
"Playing up front on your own is quite difficult but I'd do anything for this team, and anything for the fans and the club," said Cahill.
"It is all about playing for the team and playing for each other. Wherever you are asked to play, you do it because it is an honour to play for this club.
"We had to persevere and wait against City. We worked so hard and I think we deserved the victory.
"This is a results business and we needed a result so badly. It is great to pick ourselves up like this."
It was Cahill's third goal in 10 matches after injury problems and he is looking to improve his tally in the coming weeks.
"I am just getting back into the flow," he said. "I am going to keep trying.
"The way I see it, if I have not got the ball, I need to work off it. For my part it is nice to be part of this team."
