After the hard-fought El Clasico battle last Saturday, there will be a much more light-hearted affair on Tuesday as Real Madrid goalkeeper, Iker Casillas takes on world tennis number one, Rafael Nadal in a fundraiser match.
The event, organised yearly by the pair to help fight against malaria, will see a benchful of glittering sporting figures across Spain as well as footballing superstars from La Liga.
Casillas’ line-up will include names such as tennis stars, David Ferrer and Juan Carlos Ferrero, cyclist Alberto Contador, F1 racer Fernando Alonso, as well as his clubmates, Sergio Ramos and Fabio Cannavaro.
Nadal, meanwhile, will have F1, Rally and MotoGP racers such as Pedro de la Rosa, Carlos Sainz and Sete Gibernau, Serbian tennis ace, Novak Djokovic, and footballers, Raul and Samuel Eto’o on his side.
The event will take place at Madrid’s Sports Palace and it consists of a game of football with two 15-minute halves, a tennis match as well as a go-kart race. A total of €116,000 was raised in last year’s inaugural event.
