Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque has refused to rule out a future call-up for Real Madrid striker Raul.
The 31-year-old was frozen out of the national team by former Spain manager Luis Aragones meaning Raul missed Spain's European Championship win last summer.
The striker who has 44 goals from 102 internationals has been in good form this season bagging six goals in 15 La Liga games.
Del Bosque has first hand experience of what Raul can do having coached the striker during his time as Real manager between 1999 and 2003.
"I am reluctant to put up a barrier to Raul and tell him that he will not return to the national team," Del Bosque stated.
"He will continue playing for Real Madrid and let's see if there is any chance to bring him back in or not."
If the striker was recalled to the Spanish national team he would be vying for a place in attack with Liverpool's Fernando Torres and Valencia striker David Villa.
Del Bosque has already proved during his short spell as Spain manager that he is not averse to making big decisions.
The former Real Madrid and Fenerbache boss recently brought Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente into the squad for the first time.
