Silver lining: Gerrard would love to add the domestic title to his trophy haul after lifting Europe's top prize three years ago.
Steven Gerrard believes winning the Premier League with Liverpool would be bigger and better than their dramatic Champions League triumph three years ago.
The Reds came from 3-0 down to beat AC Milan in a penalty shootout in the Istanbul final but the Liverpool captain thinks being champions of England would rank as a more significant achievement.
He said: 'We call the Premier League the bread and butter around here and we need to win it. 'I'm desperate for the League. I can't show you how much we want to win the Premier League. 'If we do win it I think it will be bigger than Istanbul and I would want to go on and win it again. We have had a good season so far but it's easy for me to say we're a great team and the squad's great.
'The hardest thing is to actually go out there and prove it on the pitch. 'It has been a long time since we have been able to say Liverpool are top of the league in December but we are happy where we are.'
COME ON YOU REDS..
I am beginning to feel Liverpool will never win the Premiership title in Gerrard's time... Perhaps he should just give up on getting a winners medal. At 29 at the end of this season, how many more year will he have? For an attacking midfielder, thats quite old already... But at least he is in a better chance than Carragher, who will be 31 in Jan... Will he even get a winner's medal?
no idea but i am happy that lampard did
easy to say winning BPL is better than UCL..... of coz when he has won the BPL.... tell that to Chelsea players...
they have a good chance of winning the CL but not BPL.
i see this CL pic, sieh touching.
