Real Madrid are launching a shock bid for Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz.

The Mirror says Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has insisted he does not have to sell and taunted Manchester City by saying they are not a big enough club and even their wealthy Arab owners cannot afford Santa Cruz.
City chief Mark Hughes, Santa Cruz's former boss at Ewood Park, was confident of landing him in January.
But Real Madrid's interest in the Paraguay forward is likely to scupper his plans.
Santa Cruz, 27, has made it clear he wants to move and Real last week beat City to the signature of France midfielder Lassana Diarra, who makes an £18.8m switch from Portsmouth to the Bernabeu next month.
Santa Cruz is aware of the Spanish club's interest and comes with the bonus of being eligible to play in the Champions League.
why not.. he is good
Sign Huntelaar already now want to sign another striker if they sign Santa then got a total of 7 strikers later they nvr play enuff matches then they unhappy...
Santa Cruz is gd but wonder Arsene Wenger wanna buy him ma?
if i real are not offering big money, i hope santa dont move real otherwise he just gona warm the bench. he will be use as a reserve for the if fit raul, huntelaar or others.
he might has well stay in EPL and join clubs who has a reputation of turning him into a stars or ambition to challenge the big four!
think he should go to spurs ...
His performance dropped since last season, IMO one season wonder.
It'll be like going back to his Bayern Munich days.
but santa cruz good
ROQUE SANTA CRUZ could be on his way to Real Madrid, according to the player’s father.
Blackburn’s Paraguayan striker has frequently been linked with a move away, with Manchester City said to be keen.
But Spanish giants Real have now been put into the mix with Juande Ramos at the helm.
Santa Cruz’s dad, Aproniano, claims the former Bayern Munich star, 27, is keen to move to a big club, but insists there has been no official approach from the Spanish giants.
He said: “There is nothing official from Real Madrid but it is logical that Roque is being linked to another club,
“If the chance appears and Blackburn agree to let him go I believe he would prefer to sign for a team who are fighting for the Champions League or a domestic title.”
real normally get their man la. few player reject real.
come west ham =)
westham? maybe can get andy cole if he decided to come out of retirement la. who would like to join a almost bankrupt club if they canot find a immediate new buyer!!

I think he's over rated
he has a good goal scoring rate before his house was burglar with his wife stil remain intact. thereafter, his form seem to have dip. maybe he worry too much for his wife safety la.
in a club like blackburn where there arent much scoring oppt, his goal rate isnt bad.
