West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has decided to abandon training for three days to rid the club of illness.
The Baggies beat Tottenham 2-0 on Sunday even though a number of players – including first goal-scorer Roman Bednar – had been suffering with a bug.
But Mowbray, who is carrying the illness himself, has now told his squad to stay home as he tries to put a stop to the epidemic ahead of the FA Cup game against Peterborough on January 3.
“We’re going to give everyone three days off to try and clear the place of illness,” he told the Express & Star.
“I hope come New Year’s Day we’ll have greater numbers on the training ground than there have been recently.
“If you keep plodding on through training, things get passed on – even I’ve probably passed the bug on.
“It’s not an ideal scenario, so we’ll all have a few days off, reassess things on New Year’s Day and have a couple of days’ training before the Peterborough game.”
ho sey lo, players can party throughout the night alr =)
