Most expensive Dane: The defender joined Liverpool for £5.8million in 2004.
AC Milan are finalising an £8million bid for Liverpool central defender Daniel Agger. Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed a defender is the priority for the January transfer window as Alessandro Nesta has been injured for much of the season.
While Agger's contract runs until 2010 the Dane's agent, Per Steffensen, has said he is uncertain about the player's future.
The injury to Martin Skrtel allowed the fit-again Agger to return to Barclays Premier League action in October.
Agger joined the Premier League leaders from Brondby in 2004 for £5.8million making him the most expensive player sold by a Danish club.
why would Liverpool let him go at just 8 million for a player that will be big for them. Be very surprised if this goes thru.
It would be Liverpool's loss,if they let Agger leave.
8m only? ![]()
It's unlikely the gaffer will even consider any offers considering it's halfway thru the season. Why should he consider when Agger has proven to be a asset to the team?
maybe agger is liverpool asset, but liverpool are not adding to agger asset( bank accounts, property, diamond rings, fancy car).
just one stupid question, which club is more prestigous?
AC Milan or Liverpool in terms of silverware??
depends on what u asking abt history or this season silverware possibilities?
liverpool has high chance on EPL title.
liverpool still in UCL.
AC milan slim chance of winning seria A
AC milan in UEFA cup.
whose more prestigeous and higher chance of winning?
omg -.-
this defender good leh.
can cut, not bad. but so cheap??

Italy bound? Agger (right) could be on his way out of Liverpool
AC Milan have moved a step closer to signing Daniel Agger from Liverpool. Reports in Italy claim that Agger has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave Anfield for £7million at the end of the season.
But Milan are prepared to spend as much as £8.5m now to secure his signing as they look for replacements for ageing centre-backs Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta.
The Denmark defender has been negotiating a new deal at Liverpool, but rejected the latest contract, thought to be worth £75,000 a week to the 24-year-old.

I want him to stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please call or sms Rafa...do you want his number? lol
Funny that most forumers think that 8.5mil pounds is cheap.
Upon looking at the title of the thread, my first thought was that it's another case of over-valuation of footballers. 8.5mil pounds for a defender is alot.
Not really...Rio Ferdinand cost £30m.
this is not true.
ac milan are not willing to wait for agger at all.

I don't think Rafa will sell him in the first place. You need to have a big squad to win trophies. Hyppia is going to retire soon...

The Italian giants admitted centre-back Agger — still to sort a new contract at Anfield — is on their radar. But Kop boss Rafa Benitez will block any bids to land the Danish defender, insisting he wants to keep his squad together to chase a first Premier League title.
Agger, who also interested Real Madrid, missed most of last season with a broken foot. But he has been outstanding since getting his place back after Martin Skrtel’s knee ligament injury in October.
Milan need replacements for San Siro legends Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta. The Serie A giants’ vice-president Adriano Galliani said: “We have a list of three or four players — Agger is one of them. In January we’ll sign one of them.”
Benitez also shot down reports he is ready to off-load Andrea Dossena just six months after his £7m arrival from Udinese. The Italian left-back recently lost his place to Emiliano Insua. But the Argentine rookie is out for the next month after being called up for the South American Under-20 Championships.
Benitez said: “I am not considering selling Dossena. It is important to keep the squad together.”
see, knew it.
