Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has admitted Emile Heskey's future is 'hanging in the balance' with Liverpool said to be lining up a £4million bid.
"Everybody knows Emile Heskey's future hangs in the balance right now ahead of the transfer window opening on Thursday," said Whelan in the Wigan Evening Post.
"Emile is out of contract at the end of the season, but there have been no approaches for him.
"If Emile eventually moves on, we naturally have to find a quality replacement.
"We totally respect Emile and it all depends on what he wants to do.
"I honestly feel this could be his last career move, but obviously we would love to see him stay at Wigan."

He is a good player though and I think £1m seems like a good deal but certainly not £4m...

He will only play against those teams who come to Anfield to defend. Liverpool needs someone who is tall and physically strong to be in the box. Liverpool has drop too many points at home, we miss Crouch...
