While Arsene Wenger is being linked to a summer move to Real Madrid, Bacary Sagna has backed his boss to shine in Spain.
Arsenal right back Sagna understands Wenger is seen as a possible target for Los Merengues, and the Frenchman believes the Alsatian would prove a top signing for the Spanish champions.
Wenger is under contract until 2011 and reports have stressed the former Monaco chief could move on from Emirates Stadium in the close future.
Juande Ramos has been appointed by Madrid on a short-term deal and has not been assured that his six-month contract will be renewed next summer.
When asked if Wenger would succeed if he was appointed at Real Madrid, Sagna told French radio station Europe 1: “Of course he is a top coach who proved his worth throughout his career.
“No doubt he is good enough to manage a great team like Real. He is a coach who brings serenity in the team and helps every player be self-confident.
“Why not? He already managed top players in his career, like Thierry Henry. To me he has the capacity to do it.”
Sagna also expressed his views on Arsenal’s disappointing first part to the season and declared The Gunners are good enough to revive their title chances.
He added, on the first day of 2009: “There’s no added pressure, we understand our side is good enough to compete with Liverpool.
“We achieved good results against the big four, but have to be good during every game. Of course we are good enough because we learnt from our mistakes.
“At the moment everybody can beat everybody, like Hull did. To my mind some teams will drop points in the second part to the season.
“Playing in England is a little dream and a massive discovery for me.”
so sagna want wenger to go lah?
And then bring him along as well.
so gallas can cry again in the middle of the field?
