According to a report in the British tabloid the Daily Mail, English Premier League club Everton have rejected a bid from Russian club Rubin Kazan for Steven Pienaar.
The South African international, who has won 36 full caps to date, signed a permanent deal with the Toffees in 2008 after a succesful loan spell at Goodison Park in 2007/08.
While he started 37 games last season, scoring twice, the former Ajax and Borussia Dortmund star has only begun 12 matches this season and failed to find the back of the net, mainly due to injury.
Apparently, the Russian Champions tabled a bid in the region of €4.7 million (£4.5 m), and were confident of landing their target with manager Kurban Burdyev stating: "Pienaar is at Everton, but he doesn't always play."
However, Everton manager David Moyes is looking to add to his squad in the transfer window and insisted: "We're not intending to sell."
