Cristiano Ronaldo has denied having an agreement with Real Madrid’s presidency candidate Florentino Perez regarding a future move to the Bernabeu.
Several English and Spanish tabloids have claimed that the Manchester United star has agreed to join Real if former chairman Perez is elected again and replaces Ramon Calderon in 2010.
But the man himself has, this time, slammed speculation regarding his possible record transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ahead of the Fifa World Player ceremony in Zurich, Ronaldo declared: “My agent doesn’t have any agreement with Florentino.”
Ronaldo, proud to be part of the Fifa World Player shortlist, has hailed former Portugal boss Luiz Felipe Scolari and United chief Sir Alex Ferguson as his mentors.
He said: “I owe everything to Scolari and Ferguson. I wouldn’t be who I am if it wasn’t because of them.”
The Red Devil has also expressed his joy to fly the Premier League flag during such a prestigious ceremony.
He added; “It’s important for the country [England]. That’s why I’m very proud to represent The Premier League. And in the case one of us wins it [Fernando Torres or himself], it’s good news for the English fans.”
Ronaldo finally declared that he never called himself ‘the first, second and third best player in the world’.
He explained: “I never said that. Saying that would have been like a lack of respect to my colleagues.”
Pls lah...just go lah...duh!!
