  Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp plans to splash out £14million on Wigan midfield star Wilson Palacios – and then give him a massive pay rise.

  Redknapp will push ahead with an offer for the Honduran despite Spurs officials initially being told to “forget it” by Latics supremo

  Dave Whelan. But the former Portsmouth boss believes the size of the bid will change their minds.

  Palacios is on a modest contract at Wigan – around £10,000-a-week – and can multiply that many times over if he goes to White Hart Lane in the window.

  The Latin American star’s agent flew in from Monaco last night to broker the move – and Palacios may even demand a transfer if Wigan do not accept the Tottenham mega-bid.
