Cristiano Ronaldo registers 'CR9' trademark

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United footballer, has registered CR9 as a trademark - fuelling rumours he is to leave the club for Real Madrid.
Ronaldo, who plays with the squad No 7 for Manchester United, has reportedly been promised the No 9 shirt by the Spanish club.
The digits "CR9" were copyrighted last month in his Portuguese homeland to be used on merchandise or as the name for a restaurant or bar.
CR9 was registered by his agent Jorge Mendes at the National Institute of Industrial Property in Lisbon. Ronaldo has already registered CR7.
The 23-year-old has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid. He has revealed that he is learning Spanish and also has a sponsorship deal with a Portuguese bank giving them exclusive marketing rights if he goes to Spain.
Yesterday it was claimed that Ronaldo, the Fifa World Player of the Year, had signed a "secret" deal to join Madrid next year.
Madrid president Ramon Calderon is said to have sanctioned a transfer fee of £77 million - rising to £105m with clauses - with Ronaldo picking up £11m per year, plus £7.25m for his agent.
The huge £210,000 a week wages would dwarf the £120,000 he is paid at Old Trafford and Madrid are said to be encouraged that the weakening of the pound against the euro puts them in a stronger position than last summer.

Yes with the exception of Robben, they flop. When Beckham went there, RM did'nt win anything till his last season at that was with him on the bench for over half the season. Van Nistlerooy did'nt score anywhere as near many goals he scored in utd once he moved. Snejider just has'nt lived up to the hype that surrounded him ever since he moved save for the first few months
