Albert Riera has branded arch-rivals Manchester United ‘lucky’ as another member of Liverpool’s personnel fires a broadside at the champions.
Liverpool missed the chance to regain top spot in The Premier League following their draw in the Merseyside derby and, Reira prefers to target leaders United for some criticism, rather than dissect his own side’s failure to beat Everton.
The Spaniard is following in the footsteps of his manager Rafael Benitez who recently reeled off a list of complaints in the direction of United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
“I don’t like to talk too much in football about teams being lucky, but at the moment Manchester United are scoring goals in the last minutes and we’ve now conceded a late goal,” Riera said in the Daily Express.
“At least we’re still on the same points as United and you can be sure we are going to keep on fighting them.
“We’re not finished yet, we’ll keep on going – and we’re still confident."
