India's Sunil Chhetri has been offered a trial stint with Coventry City at the end of the month.
Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman is keen to have a closer look at the striker, who is arguably India's best player and regarded highly by national coach Bob Houghton.
The East Bengal star's father confirmed he will leave for England after a domestic league fixture on 24th January.
"He has indeed received a call from Coventry City for trials," Kharga Chhetri told goal.com.
"He was supposed to go for the trials on the 22nd but now, he shall play the match for East Bengal on the 24th. Thereafter, he shall fly to Delhi and head to England for the trials.
"I am very happy for my son. It will be great if he manages to impress at Coventry and thereby move abroad.
Chhetri, 24, is tipped by many to be the third Indian player to play in Europe after Mohammed Salim (Celtic) and Bhaichung Bhutia (Bury).
His goalscoring exploits at international level had seen him attract interest from a number of Portuguese clubs, as well as Leeds United.
