Arsene Wenger insists he is not worried about pairing former friends Kolo Toure and William Gallas together at the back for Arsenal.
Gallas, axed by Wenger as Arsenal skipper for publicly criticising his team-mates in an interview, is fit again after a fortnight out with a hamstring problem.
But the Gunners boss now faces the dilemma of whether to select the two together in the same side for the FA Cup trip to Cardiff City on Sunday.
New captain Toure and Gallas had a blazing row the last time they linked up together during Arsenal's 2-2 draw at Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
After the match Toure reportedly put in a transfer request but later withdrew it and was confirmed as captain when Cesc Fabregas faced a lengthy spell on the injury table after suffering knee ligament damage.
However Wenger delved into history to compare his centre-back pairing to that of Real Madrid's Ferenc Puskas and Alfredo Di Stefano, who disliked each other but worked well together on the pitch.
"I have considered playing Toure and Gallas together but I haven't decided yet," Wenger told the Daily Star.
"In football you do not need to go on holiday to play together.
"Di Stefano and Puskas didn't speak to each other or greet each other. But when they played together you didn't know it.
"What is important is what happens on the pitch and that you respect the game.
"If you want to win, you do what it takes to win."
