Gianluigi Buffon has revealed he would be ready to leave Juventus if he was made a similar offer to that which Manchester City sought to tempt Kaka.
Kaka's decision to snub a £500,000-a-week contract offer from City to remain with Milan was evidence that the devout Brazilian does indeed 'belong to Jesus' and not the almighty dollar.
However Manchester City's bitter chairman, the Garry Cook that spoiled the broth, complained afterwards that his team had been duped.
Should Cook and City move for Buffon with similarly lavish intent, negotiations would prove a whole lot simpler.
For his own sake and that of his club, the Italy international goalkeeper claims he is ready to roam in the realms of fantasy football.
"I am a football man," Buffon told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I know you have to do your sums and I know teams are also businesses.
"Therefore, if a fantasy football bid came in I would be ready to go.
"I would also do it to relieve a justifiable embarrassment from a club like Juventus, to whom I owe so much."
