Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Tottenham have lodged an official enquiry for Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones.
Never one to shy away from making his transfer targets public, Redknapp has once again moved to verify his interest in a player with whom he has been linked with for much of the January transfer window.
The Spurs manager was similarly candid over his admiration for Jermain Defoe and Wilson Palacios, both of whom have since completed moves to White Hart Lane.
Recent speculation has suggested that Darren Bent could be used as a makeweight in any bid to bring Jones to the club but Redknapp would not substantiate anything other than the fact that Sunderland had been made aware of his desire to sign the Trinidad and Tobago international.
"We have made an enquiry for Jones," he confirmed.
"I have no idea how far the chairman has got with it or even whether Sunderland want to do a deal."
